The Boys & Girls Club of Lake County ended their summer programs with a carnival last Friday!  Candace Carr, the head of Axiom’s design team, worked as a face painter.  The carnival had a bouncy house, balloon animals, carnival games, and ended the summer with a bang.

Their summer programs work to prevent learning loss over the school break, while still enjoying all the benefits of summer. The carnival got kids excited and ready for the new school year.

The Boys & Girls Club of Lake County has a 90% success rate of getting their members to graduate high school–not an easy thing in a county where more than 1000 kids drop out of school a year.

The Boys & Girls Club is a national non-profit with an enormous impact on children living in poverty. The Club’s mission is, “to inspire all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” Their members get a hand up, not a hand out. They have statistics in their annual report that attest to their program’s hard-won toptermpaper.com success.

Lake County’s branch has been active since 1999 and average 400-500 children a day in the 5 Lake County program sites.
